The practical client experience

What happens before, during and after a Frontier programme.

This page explains the working relationship: what Frontier contributes, what the client must bring, how the programme is established and which decisions keep it useful.

The relationship in plain English

Frontier brings the operating discipline; the client brings the commercial reality.

The programme only becomes valuable when evidence, judgement and the client’s ability to act are joined.

Frontier is designed to establish and maintain the market, evidence, qualification, workflow and outcome record around an agreed objective.

The client supplies the credible offer, internal constraints, operational truth, feedback and authority required to make the decision and act on it.

Together, Frontier and the client determine priority, review material exceptions, interpret outcomes and decide whether the programme should continue, change, expand, pause or close.

Three client options; one lifecycle.

The scope changes between Review, Review & Expand and Monitor & Prioritise. The design, mobilisation, governance and learning disciplines below remain consistent.

What the client does not need to do

The client does not need to operate every research or preparation workflow. It does need to provide timely commercial context and own the decisions that could create an external commitment.

The engagement lifecycle

Six phases from the first question to retained learning.

This lifecycle explains the relationship. The six-stage Frontier Method explains how individual evidence moves through the operating programme.

01 / Initial Review

Establish the live question

The no-obligation Commercial Review clarifies what decision needs to improve, why it matters now, what is already known and whether Frontier can contribute usefully. It may recommend Review, Review & Expand, Monitor & Prioritise, a bespoke scope, preparation first or no further work.

Proceed, refine or decline
02 / Design

Define the programme

Agree the objective, market universe, exclusions, deliverables, standards, responsibilities, review cadence and outcome model.

Decision output
Programme Charter
03 / Mobilise

Construct the client environment

Build the market, evidence rules, work queues, responsibilities, decision controls, client field map, delivery routes and reporting view.

Decision output
Mobilisation acceptance
04 / Calibrate

Test the standard

Review representative examples, including weak, contradictory and exceptional records, before increasing the flow of work.

Decision output
Approved rules and thresholds
05 / Operate

Investigate, qualify and govern

Run the agreed workflows, surface priorities, coordinate proportionate action and review capacity and exceptions.

Decision output
Dossiers, briefings and approved actions
06 / Learn

Adapt, continue or close

Examine outcomes, attribution, weak assumptions and continued value; then change the programme only where evidence justifies it.

Governance rhythm

A cadence designed around decisions, not status theatre.

OperationalPriority movements, research exceptions, missing evidence and immediate actions.
ProgrammeOpportunity mix, engagement movement, stalled work, client capacity and rule changes.
StrategicMarket learning, performance against objectives, resource allocation and whether the programme remains justified.
Material eventImmediate review when evidence, risk, scope or operating conditions change significantly.

What Frontier will not do

Boundaries protect the value of the work.

Manufacture certainty

We will not present an inference, probability or early signal as confirmed buyer intent.

Optimise for volume alone

We will not expand activity when evidence and client capacity do not support it.

Hide the reasoning

We will not rely on an unexplained score or recommendation where the decision matters.

Remove accountability

Agent-supported work does not remove the need for a responsible human decision.

Claim every outcome

We distinguish association, influence and attribution when reporting results.

Force a programme

A Commercial Review may conclude that further investment is not yet justified.

A successful relationship

The strongest programmes combine Frontier’s evidence and operating discipline with a client willing to make focused decisions, share outcomes and act on what the evidence reveals.
